I found this novel, the inspiration for the movie Slumdog Millionaire, to be delightful and engrossing. It was far more realistic than the movie, though still rather like a fairy tale in some ways. It was disturbing in many places, and sometimes really sad, but also quite affirming and joyful in other parts. I think it ended exactly as it should have. Mostly it was just very entertaining. I'm totally in awe of Swarup that he wrote such a wonderful, enjoyable first book. I'm definitely going to read whatever else he writes.
