The pictures convey the sense at least as much as do the words. I first read this edition while I was in Michigan watching the world fill completely up with thick silent snow. It really fit that mood. It's my favorite edition of this book, because of the amazing photos of Jane English. I'm struck with what a mysteriously beautiful place the world is while reading this book. It's an excellent translation, too, and the original Chinese script, though I can't read it, adds immeasurably to the experience in an undefinable way.
